Signature Practice: Quality
SIGNATURE PRACTICE: Physician Education
At CEP America, exceptional clinical care is the cornerstone of our partnership. Underlying our core competency of delivering high quality care is our Provider Education Program. This program was designed to make available the latest medical knowledge to our providers so that CEP America-staff sites can offer state-of-the-art care to our patients.
As an IMQ CME granting organization, CEP America annually grants over 8,000 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM to our partners. We offer a robust mechanism for identifying the latest advances in medical care and facilitating the adoption of best practices for all providers.
Through our CME / Quality Improvement Committee, CEP America delivers well designed evidence-based educational programs that address the many facets of a physician's practice with direct implications for patient care. Below are just a few of the educational offerings that support the clinical needs of our providers:
Sepsis Performance Improvement Activity:
The goal of our Sepsis Performance Improvement Activity is to enhance the treatment of adult septic patients in our emergency departments. Our comprehensive sepsis program includes order bundles, white papers, and web content. Sites that have implemented Sepsis Performance Initiatives have reported improved compliance with the Sepsis Protocol, reduced in-hospital mortality in their patients, and have saved the hospital precious resources by reducing length of ICU stay.
Ultrasound Training Program:
Ultrasound imaging enhances the emergency physician's ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients. Emergency physician- performed ultrasound can result in more rapid patient diagnosis, improved quality of care, decreased morbidity/mortality, decreased risk, and higher patient satisfaction. CEP America offers a comprehensive Ultrasound Training Program designed to increase the physician's skill in performing emergency ultrasound and the increased use of clinically indicated emergency ultrasound in the treatment of patients in our emergency departments.
Regional Emergency Medicine Symposium:
Drawing upon the expertise of our many outstanding physicians along with nationally acclaimed speakers, this symposium brings the latest, up-to-date knowledge in emergency medicine to our providers.
Advanced / Difficult Airway Program:
Airway management in the emergency department is a vital skill for emergency physicians. CEP America's Advanced/Difficult Airway Program is designed to enhance the physicians' skill in airway management through an intensive program. It provides participants with a state-of-the-art, systematic overview as well as hands-on experience of the preparation and tools necessary to manage common and complex airway situations.
